Paul Barnes' Volunteer State Belt Line
Paul wanted heavy switching and a subterranean staging yard, but he didn't think he had room for a loop to run modern-length trains. I proposed a double helix - one going down counterclockwise, one going down clockwise to reach the staging, which also forms a continuous run of considerable length. A scissors wye adds interest to the shelf.

Jeff Stuparyk's CP in the Rockies
Few railroads can compete with the dramatic scenery of the Canadian Pacific in the Rocky Mountains west of Calgary. Jeff wanted to reproduce the scenes he visited on holiday with his family, and that called for a double deck plan in N scale. Construction of the immense yard at Calgary was made a little simpler by having it serve as the eastern staging. Towns all appear in prototype order.
