Ken, a frequent flyer on Bob's Track Plans, asked for a Kato Unitrak layout to fit on 3'x3' modules sitting on ping-pong tables. No challenge too great. Trackage was kept to the edges to avoid long reaches for operating. The plan includes a passeger station big enough to take full consists and a version of Bernie Kempinski's paper mill design.
Keeping the trackage to the edges to avoid long reaches makes a lot of sense for a 3'x3' module, especially when operators are standing around it rather than inside. I'm curious how the passenger station sized for full consists fits without crowding the paper mill scene, since both seem to demand significant real estate. Does the plan rely on view blocks or elevation changes to separate them visually, or do they sit side by side along the same edge?
