Matt Ferrante's Rock Cut Railroad
Matt has a fairly small area for an O scale layout, even with the relatively tight curvature common to three-rail components. He also wanted to represent the junction of the O&W and DLW in Sidney, NY while making space for his prized Lionel structures and accessories. It took some effort, but we came up with a twice-around design where the intersection could represent the junction, and key structures like the depot, freight house, and coal trestle were where they should be relative to the prototype.
